Fritz Reuter is still a familiar name to many northern Germans – in the 19th century, he was even the most widely read author in Germany. In his honour, a literary museum has been established in Stavenhagen, his birthplace, offering guided tours, stations for children, lectures and readings.

Heinrich-Schliemann-Museum

The pioneer of field archaeology grew up in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Today, his childhood home houses the Heinrich Schliemann Museum with a permanent exhibition: among other things, visitors can admire original finds from Schliemann’s expedition to Troy.

The museum is located in Hans Fallada’s former home, where he lived and worked between 1933 and 1944. Take a look over Hans Fallada’s shoulder as he works on his novels in his study! The room, as well as the veranda, dining room and kitchen, still feature the original furnishings.
